Post Holiday Season Catch Up

Once again holiday season is over.  That time of year when you are bombarded with repetitious Christmas music and jostled around in the hustle and bustle at the shopping centers is finished.

Here in Toronto we had a very cold holiday season.  Frigid cold weather was a constant over the holidays and has finally let up a couple of days ago.  Yesterday and today has been milder but with the warm weather has come rain.  The rain has washed most of the snow away and the only snow that can be seen is where it has been piled up.

The new subway extension has completely changed my commuting schedule.  After trying the different ways to go to and from work I have decided on a preferred route.  In the mornings I take the 195 Jane Express up to Steeles and transfer to the Jane 20 YRT bus to continue to work.  When the extension was first was activated the 20 bus was on a 10 minute schedule but now they have reduced it to a 15 minute schedule.  In the evening I will take the 20 Bus to Vaughn City Centre terminal and then take the subway down to Lawrence West station.  From there I take the 59 bus to home.  The evening ride on the subway is very relaxing and I am able to quietly read a book as I am travelling.  The only issue with the evening commute is the wait at Lawrence West station and trying to get a seat on the bus.  Even with those hassles I am able to stop over at Longo’s and do some grocery shopping when it is closed for a double shooting.
