• Federal Election 2019

Monday, October 21, 2019 York South–Weston / York-Sud–Weston 35-120(Ontario) At first glance of the list of candidates, I have only eliminated one candidate: Gerard Racine – People’s Party of Canada – Too Far Right I also have reservations with the NDP and the Green Party. The NDP are too in sympathetic to the labour unions and I consider the Green Party to be a 1 issue party that is only focused on the environment. Personally I detest political parties. I believe that the idea of political parties distract the elected official from voting with their conscience and towards their party’s interests. On October 10th I emailed all the candidates, that…

  • 50 Years Later – What now?

July 20, 1969, a date that shall ever be remembered for when mankind took it’s first step in becoming a space faring race. The moon landing proved that great things can be accomplished when people look to the future and work together to make their dreams come true. Landing men on the Moon required a large commitment of resources ($25 billion; $153 billion in 2018 dollars)[1]. At its peak, the Apollo program employed 400,000 people and required the support of over 20,000 industrial firms and universities.[2] The general public’s commitment to the space program is a fraction of what it was 50 years ago. People today are more interested on other…

  • The Journey Continues

Since Thursday evening’s emotional phone call and abruptly quitting my job, I have been seriously stressed out and I haven’t been sleeping well.  I only got a couple hours sleep on Thursday and didn’t sleep at all Friday night causing me to watch the sunrise on Saturday.  It is major step and it has been weighing heavy on me.  I have been experiencing a flood of emotions that include anger, sorrow, fear and self doubt that have been washing over me, sometimes all at the same time.  Today I have a new determination and have a better outlook for the future. The last couple days I have spent updating my resume,…

  • Change Of Career

Out of respect to the people involved I will be referring to them as employer and supervisor. Yesterday I informed my employer that I will no longer be working for Conixi.  Even though he treated me with respect and dignity it was the actions of my direct supervisor that finally made up my mind.  Even though I have been working with my supervisor for the past 16 years in different companies, I couldn’t endure his treatment of me anymore. It all came to a head yesterday when he called me after work and berated me over the phone.  His actions yesterday have made me come to this decision.  Several times…

  • A trip into the past.

Today I rode my motorcycle to Cardiff, a small town where I lived in the mid 80’s. With no rain in the forecast for Saturday or Sunday it was the perfect time to go. I was planning this trip for a couple weeks but the weather never cooperated. In the morning I woke up early for a Saturday, gave my motorcycle a wash and topped up the coolant fluid. Grabbing what I would need for an overnight stay I proceeded to Walmart to pick up some small items and to the my mechanic to take a look at the motorcycle’s parking break. At Walmart instead of buying the items individually…

  • Weekend Update

Friday after work talked with my neighbour Diane.  She says that here car has been broken into and she suspects our former neighbour.   After she described several incidents she had with him over the years I told her to contact the police if there are more incidents. Saturday was a quiet day.  I went to Corsa and got my motorcycle seat fixed.  Apparently the bolt from the hinge came out.  Luckily, George was able to find the bolt and reinstall it. Sunday went for small ride, from Jane down to Bloor across to the DVP, up to Lawrence and then back home. Today I took the portable safe, with family…

  • Motorcycle is out of storage.

Today after work I retrieved my motorcycle from winter storage.  I am looking forward to the freedom and accessibility that the motorcycle provides me.  It feels like a long time taking the TTC and being subject to their schedules. The forecast for tomorrow is for rain.  If it is raining in the morning, I will be taking the bus. It wasn’t raining bad so I rode to work.
